In 2008 the 110th United States Congress officially designated April as “National 9-1-1 Education Month” with House Resolution 537 which requested that the President “issue a proclamation designating such a month and calling for appropriate ceremonies, training events, and activities.”
“9-1-1” (nine, one, one) is the nation-wide three-digit phone number to call for emergency assistance and should only be dialed for matters of life-and-death related to fire, crime, or medical emergencies.
Help spread awareness about proper 9-1-1 usage by learning and sharing when to call 9-1-1, how to dial 9-1-1, and what to say to the 9-1-1 operator. It may save your life or someone you love!
